Position Title: Substitute Teacher - All grade levels K-8

Description:

The substitute is a guest teacher and works to maintain a continuity of education and learning in the absence of the regular teacher. The effective substitute will:

Have classroom practices show knowledge of content and skills relevant to the teacher's professional responsibilities. Provide structures that encourage effective self-disciplined students in all learning situations Incorporate a child's learning style, interest and motivational factors in a developmentally appropriate manner. Ensure that all students have opportunities to ask questions, contribute, and otherwise participate in class activities. Collaborate with appropriate resource people. Follow teacher's lesson plans. Seek help when needed

Working Conditions:

$105/day for regular day-to-day substitute work
Long Term Rates for longer term assignments

Position Title: Instructional Coach

Reports to: Principal

Job Summary:

Provides a range of support and resources to teachers around technology integration and best practice teaching strategies. Supports school initiatives and management of various technology devices, systems and programs.

Qualifications:

- Valid Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator's License.
- Willingness to sponsor and/or participate in extra-curricular activities.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

- Identifies technology integration competencies among instructional staff, in collaboration with school administrators, and delivers appropriate coaching, training, and resources to support professional growth of adult learners.
- Plans and collaborates with teachers by exploring various teaching strategies, classroom or literacy approaches, or finding resources to support them in their day-to-day teaching.
- Attend and participate in curriculum development, standard alignment, writing of assessments, and effective instructional practices.
- Collaborates with administration and staff on planning and implementing and analyzing online assessments.
- Help teachers develop successful differentiated learning opportunities for students.
- Confers with students, parents, and school personnel to resolve student problems.
- Supports increasing content knowledge of staff in order to improve student achievement.
- Model, co - teach, and coach teachers in the use of effective technology integration strategies.
- Provides regular staff development.
- Other duties as assigned.

Perform the physical tasks necessary to monitor, supervise and physically assist students throughout the school day during a variety of instructional activities. Must be able to function effectively in an active, loud environment. Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment as circumstances require.

Position Title: School Nurse

Job Summary:

To provide direct nursing services to students and staff members to maximize health and wellness in the school community. All duties are performed in accordance with district/state board of education policies and procedures and state law regarding nurse practice.

Qualifications:

- Baccalaureate Degree Preparation
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in State of Illinois
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation program completion
- Experience in nursing and completion of a school health orientation program preferred
- Illinois Certification as a Vision and Hearing screening technician
- Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Nursing Care:

- Provides direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students and staff in response to the nursing assessment and in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures, and state and local mandates.
- Administers medication with appropriate documentation.
- Participates in maintaining accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandates including immunizations, physical examinations, and medical conditions, and the related archival responsibilities.
- Performs mandated screening procedures for vision and hearing (requires state credentials as a screener).
- Makes appropriate assessment and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter.


Communication:

- Maintains communication with the Certified school nurse, teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the health and safety needs of students.
- Provides health services, information, and counseling in an effective and positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community.
- Completes accident/incident reports for students/staff.
- Compiles data for statistical purposes.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issues.


Organization:

- Maintains a daily log of student/staff visits and documentation on individual health records
- Maintains the daily environment of the health office facility and supplies
- Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties.
- Performs other health or school related work as required.


Professional Development:

- Maintains contact with a professional nursing organization and utilizes continuing education opportunities to enhance professional knowledge
- Participates as an active member of the school community, representing health/wellness.
