Preschool Handbook

Pennoyer School is a recipient of the 2018 Preschool for All Grant!   The Preschool for All (PFA) program provides high quality preschool education for children ages 3 and up to 5 years old, specifically children that may benefit from additional academic supports. The preschool program includes parent engagement, comprehensive developmental screening, and high-quality, research-based curriculum for children to develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that allows them to be successful throughout their school experience.

The enrollment process Preschool for All programs prioritizes serving children that are considered ‘at-risk of academic failure’ due to a range of factors.  Students are individually screened to determine if they are eligible for preschool. The screenings for the child would include specific developmental areas such as vocabulary, speech development, and social skills. Parents and guardians would also be interviewed in their preferred language.

Screening dates are:

August 21 & 22        October 5       December 14
February 22             April 5             May 29

Students must be 3 or turning 3 within 2 months of the time of the screening. Please call the office to set up a screening date 708-456-9094.  Screening does not guarantee placement in the preschool program.

Program enrollment is limited and priority will be given to Pennoyer School District 79 residents.

Pennoyer School is looking forward to serving our youngest community members!  Please feel free to reach out to the office should you have any questions.
