Pennoyer Elementary School Administration
At Pennoyer School District #79, the Superintendent and the Principal handle all administrative functions. The superintendent handles 'district' level issues and items, and the principal handles 'school' level issues and items. Both are happy to work with members of the community at any time. Superintendent - Dr. Kristin Kopta
This is Dr. Kopta's 4th year as Superintendent of Pennoyer School District 79. Dr. Kopta earned her Doctoral degree from National Louis University in School Leadership and Administration. She also holds a Masters degrees in School Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Human Resource and Development from the University of Illinois at Champaign and most recently completed her Chief School Business Official certification from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She received her Bachelors of Education Degree at Illinois State University. Dr. Kopta grew up in Lemont and currently lives in Arlington Heights with her husband and two children. Dr. Kopta is a proud Veteran, serving her country for 20 years in the Illinois Air National Guard. She is an advocate for public education and serves on the West 40 Regional Office of Education Board of Directors.
Principal - Mrs. Aliaa Ibrahim
This is Ms. Ibrahim’s 12th year in education. Ms. Ibrahim earned her Masters degree in School Administration from Concordia University Chicago. She also holds a Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Northeastern Illinois University. She holds a Bachelors in Secondary Education and Mathematics. Ms. Ibrahim’s administrative experiences include being the assistant principal of student services and the assistant principal of curriculum and instruction at Round Lake Middle School. Previous to that she held the role of instructional coach at Evanston Township High School. She began her career in education teaching 7th grade math at Macarthur Middle School in Prospect Heights. Since the start of her career she has followed her passion to foster innovative, equitable and emotionally balanced learning environments for students and is excited to bring this passion to Pennoyer. Ms. Ibrahim currently lives in Gurnee with her husband and son. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family visiting and discovering the various parks, museums, and other recreational experiences that Illinois has to offer.
