Pennoyer Elementary School Administration

At Pennoyer School District #79, the Superintendent and the Principal handle all administrative functions. The superintendent handles 'district' level issues and items, and the principal handles 'school' level issues and items. Both are happy to work with members of the community at any time. Superintendent - Dr. Kristin Kopta

This is Dr. Kopta's 4th year as Superintendent of Pennoyer School District 79.   Dr. Kopta earned her Doctoral degree from National Louis University in School Leadership and Administration. She also holds a Masters degrees in School Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Human Resource and Development from the University of Illinois at Champaign and most recently completed her Chief School Business Official certification from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She received her Bachelors of Education Degree at Illinois State University. Dr. Kopta grew up in Lemont and currently lives in Arlington Heights with her husband and two children. Dr. Kopta is a proud Veteran, serving her country for 20 years in the Illinois Air National Guard.  She is an advocate for public education and serves on the West 40 Regional Office of Education Board of Directors.

Interim Principal - Dr. Terri Carman

Holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, Masters Degrees in School Administration and Gifted Education, and a Bachelors in Elementary Education. She served as the principal of the following schools: Wescott Elementary School in Northbrook/Glenview District 30, North Elementary School in Des Plaines CCSD62, and in Bensenville District 2 as Chippewa Elementary Principal, Assistant Principal of Blackhawk Middle School, and Gifted Coordinator. Dr. Carman taught grades 2 - 9 in various roles.  Her school was the recipient of the National Blue Ribbon award while she was principal at Wescott School.  

Interim Principal - Mrs. Elizabeth Webb

Holds Masters Degrees in School Administration and Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelors in Elementary Education.  She served as the principal of Spring Avenue Elementary School in LaGrange District 105 and was the Student Services Coordinator in Naperville Indian Prairie School District 204.  She has also served as an Instructional Coach and teacher for grades 1- 5.  She serves in a consultant capacity for Six Traits of Writing, NWEA MAP, Responsive Classroom, SEL and Systems Assessments.
