Standard(s)

M.2.8.1   Measure the length of an object accurately by selecting and using appropriate measurement tools to include rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes. 2.MD.A.1
M.2.8.2   Compare the measurements of one object using two different units of measure (ex: a pencil measures 4 inches or 12 centimeters) and describe how the measurements relate to the size of the unit chosen. 2.MD.A.2
M.2.8.3   Estimate the length of an object using inches, feet, centimeters, and meters. 2.MD.A.3
M.2.8.4   Measure to compare lengths between two objects to determine how much longer one object is than another and record the differences using a standard length unit. 2.MD.A.4
M.2.8.5   Solve addition and subtraction word problems*  within 100 involving length by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem. 2.MD.B.5
M.2.8.6   Create a number line with equally spaced points corresponding to the numbers 0, 1, 2,... and represent whole-number sums within 100. 2.MD.B.6
