Standard(s)

3   M.8.4.1

Interpret the unit rate of a proportional relationship as the slope of a graph.

8.EE.B.5
1   M.8.4.2

Explain why the slope, m, is the same between any two points on a nonvertical line in the coordinate plane using similar triangles.

8.EE.B.6
2   M.8.4.3

Calculate the rate of change using the slope formula and identify the y-intercept.

8.F.B.4
3   M.8.4.4

Graph a proportional and nonproportional relationship given an equation, table, and real world description.

8.EE.B.5

3   M.8.4.5

Compare the rate of change and initial value of  two proportional or nonproportional relationships represented in two different ways such as with a graph, equation, table, or written description. For example, distance-time equation and distance-time graph.

8.EE.B.5

2   M.8.4.6

Derive the equation for a proportional relationship using a graph as, y=mx and derive the equation for a non proportional relationship using a graph, as y=mx+ b.

8.EE.B.6
