Math Curriculum

7th Grade

Course Purpose:

Students will calculate and apply operations with rational numbers to solve real word problems. Students will apply algebraic concepts to solve one-step and two-step equations with rational numbers and apply to real world contexts.

Outcomes and Components:

M.7.1

Standard(s)

M.7.1.1   Define rational numbers and relate them to whole numbers and integers. Define irrational numbers.
M.7.1.2   Describe situations in which opposite quantities make zero (opposites add to zero).

7.NS.A.1.a

7.NS.A.1.b

M.7.1.3   Add integers using a number line. 7.NS.A.1.b
M.7.1.4   Define subtracting integers as adding the opposite and subtract integers using a number line by showing the distance is the absolute value of their difference. 7.NS.A.1.c
M.7.1.5   Use integer rules to add and subtract integers  and apply to real world contexts. 7.NS.A.1.d
