Math Curriculum

7th Grade

Course Purpose:

Students will calculate and apply operations with rational numbers to solve real word problems. Students will apply algebraic concepts to solve one-step and two-step equations with rational numbers and apply to real world contexts.

Outcomes and Components:

M.7.12

Students will compare data distributions and make inferences about the given populations.

Standard(s)

M.7.12.1   Identify a sample of a population to include random samples and biased and state that random sampling techniques tend to produce representative samples and explain this given a sample. 7.SP.A.1
M.7.12.2   Using given data, create inferences about a population with unknown characteristic of interest. 7.SP.A.2
M.7.12.3   Generate multiple samples (of the same size) to make predictions. 7.SP.A.2
M.7.12.4   Compare the means and compare the mean absolute deviations given two visual distributions line plots/dot plots) with similar variables. 7.SP.B.3
M.7.12.5   Use measures of centers for numerical data to create inferences about the population. 7.SP.B.4
M.7.12.6   Use measures of variability for numerical data to create inferences about the population. 7.SP.B.4
