Math Curriculum

7th Grade

Course Purpose:

Students will calculate and apply operations with rational numbers to solve real word problems. Students will apply algebraic concepts to solve one-step and two-step equations with rational numbers and apply to real world contexts.

Outcomes and Components:

M.7.9

M.7.9.1   Create geometric shapes with given conditions (with ruler, protractor, and with technology) with a focus on constructing triangles from three measures of angles or sides and determine if the conditions form a unique triangle, more than one triangle, or no triangle. 7.G.A.2
M.7.9.2   Identify three dimensional shapes and identify their edges, faces, vertices.
M.7.9.3   Identify and describe the cross section of right rectangular prisms and right rectangular pyramids. 7.G.A.3
M.7.9.4   Solve real world problems involving area of triangles, quadrilaterals, and polygons. 7.G.B.6
M.7.9.5   Solve real world problems by calculating the surface area of cubes, rectangular prisms, and triangular prisms, including composite figures. 7.G.B.6
M.7.9.6   Solve real world problems by calculating the volume of cubes, rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, including composite figures. 7.G.B.6
